The Milford Diner is a newly forming non profit organization to be operated out of the historic Milford Diner.
The goal of the organization is to restore this 1946 Silk City Diner, in its present location, and maintain it as a Milford information and cultural center benefiting all of Milford.
The Milford Diner is a 1946 Silk City Diner with an attached building that predates the Diner. It has been empty for over 6-years and has been left in great disrepair.
Because of its location, The Milford Diner is a well-known landmark in the City and there has been a community push to save and restore this historic structure. There are currently two similar Silk City Diners on the National Historic Register.
Initial engineering and construction reports estimate the cost of full restoration to be $80,000. All work on The Milford Diner will be undertaken by local companies and with the financial support of individuals, local businesses, City agencies, and through City, State and Federal Grants.
Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.
